Mairaj A. Khan, M.D.

Psychiatrist

Dr. Khan is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist, and Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. Heis licensed in both Kansas and Missouri with over 10 years experience providing both inpatient and outpatient services. In addition to providing consulting services at PRC®, Dr. Khan worked at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, and is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UMKC. He is currently medical director of ReDiscover’s Partial Hospital Program (where UMKC pharmacy students and KU residency Doctors rotate, are taught, and supervised). He also provides inpatient psychiatric care as an admitting psychiatrist at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, Missouri.

His keen interest in Psychiatry developed as a Research Associate and Psychometrician at Yale School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry at the Schizophrenia Research Program, while evaluating patients and healthy subjects in clinical research studies and trials. Dr. Khan then went on to join Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry Residency training program. His entire final year of training was devoted to the core concentration specialties of geriatric psychiatry, psychopharmacology, and addiction psychiatry.

William Hale, M.D.

Psychiatrist

Dr. Hale practices psychiatry at the Sastun Center of Integrative Health Care in Overland Park, Kansas where he works with children, adults, and elderly clients. He graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and then completed residency at the Karl Menninger School of Psychiatry. He also completed a two-year training program at Menninger in Biofeedback and Psychophysiologic Therapy. He received a nine-month Fulbright Fellowship to conduct medical anthropology research in India.

Through his work at the Sastun Center and during eight years of practice at Prairie View Mental Health Center in Newton, Kansas, he has had extensive experience in working with interdisciplinary clinical teams in inpatient, outpatient, and partial hospital treatment.

Bruce Michael Cappo, PhD, ABPP

Forensic Psychologist

Dr. Cappo is a Board-Certified licensed psychologist (Kansas & Missouri) with a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. For 25 years, he has specialized in conducting formal evaluations that assess forensic and public safety related concerns. Dr. Cappo has evaluated both sexual offenders and sexual predators and has designed and implemented residential and outpatient treatment programs for offenders and predators. He is a clinical member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA), and continues to serve as an original member of the Sexual Predator Transition Panel for the State of Kansas. He has worked with prosecutors and defense attorneys in municipal, county, state, and federal cases and has testified in multiple county, state, and federal courts. Evaluations in this area include both psychological factors that may be a focus of diagnosis or treatment as well as detailed actuarial risk factors relevant in terms of both treatment and public safety. He also conducts applicant evaluations for the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency, Immigration & Customs Enforcement, and for several regional police departments. He is the psychologist for a large police department in the Kansas City area as well as multiple smaller agencies. He has provided evaluations for the Federal Transportation Security Administration as well. He also conducts applicant evaluations for individuals desiring to enter religious life and for other public service and safety-related positions. Dr. Cappo has evaluated many professionals (medical, legal, religious, and financial) who are known or suspected to have an impairment, who are mandated to seek an evaluation by a supervising authority, or who have other legal or forensic reasons to obtain an assessment.

He presently serves on the University of Minnesota Press Advisory Committee related to psychological assessment and is an Ad Hoc reviewer for several journals. Dr. Cappo is a Past President and Fellow of the Kansas Psychological Association as well as a Past President of the Kansas Association of Professional Psychologists. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and is certified by the Board of Governors of the APA College of Professional Psychology in the Treatment of Alcohol and Other Psychoactive Substance Use Disorders. He is listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology and is a member of the Psychological Services Section of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Dr. Cappo is Board Certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Kipp Low, MCJ

Chief Polygraph Examiner

Mr. Low is president/owner of Forensic Truth Analysis, LLC, a company specializing in polygraphs examinations and forensic interviewing. Mr. Low is a 27-year law enforcement veteran of the Topeka Police Department where he rose through the ranks of patrol officer to commander of investigations/special units. He is a 1998 graduate of American/International Institute of Polygraph in Atlanta, Georgia and has performed over 3,000 polygraph examinations. A consultant to numerous companies, he has been involved in conducting polygraph exams and forensic interviewing in a multitude of areas including criminal specific, employment screening, internal affairs, professional boundary violations, sex offender treatment, and sex offender monitoring. Mr. Low is a graduate of Washburn University with master’s degree in Criminal Justice and an Adjunct Professor at the University instructing courses in investigations. He has special certification in the use of polygraph in the clinical field and has been a guest presenter on the subject of polygraph on numerous occasions providing lecture to both the private and law enforcement sector.
