Dr. Flanders is the Director of Psychological Services and has been at PRC® for five years. He earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Ohio University. He completed his internship at the V.A. Medical Center in Tucson with clinical foci and training in neuropsychology and gero-psychology. He has been practicing in Kansas for more than 30 years. Dr. Flanders has spent the majority of his time working as the director of multidisciplinary teams. He has significant experience and expertise assessing and treating high-achieving/ high-accountability professionals within an intensive outpatient setting. He has expertise and training in EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolong Exposure Therapy, hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy,  and mindfulness. He was the Director of Psychological services at an inpatient addiction treatment program. He has lectured throughout the state of Kansas on the topic of burnout in physicians. He has been involved in faculty development seminars with the University of Kansas Medical School helping staff develop programs to identify and assist trainees who may be struggling with burn out or other mental health issues as will as develop prevention programs. His research interest involves the aging physician, the effect of trauma and how it relates to physician behavioral dyscompetency, and mindfulness.  Prior to joining the PRC® clinical staff, he had the opportunity to treat returning service members from Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. Flanders has lectured extensively on numerous topics including: job stress, burnout, depression, mental health sensitivity to law enforcement, and sexual harassment in the workplace.
