Dr Williams just returned from the Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education (SACME) Fall Meeting in Baltimore, MD. She participated in a panel discussion on the role of CME in workplace learning. She provided a brief overview of Social Learning and Social Cognitive Theories. She also discussed observational learning in the context of the "hidden curriculum" and issues of professionalism including disruptive behavior. She discussed the potential role of CME/CPD offices in helping to address these professional issues. She suggested that CME/CPD office could play a leadership role by helping with curriculum design and faculty development opportunities.
